US Virgin Islands

Thứ sáu, Tháng 9 15, 1995
The stormʼs nearly 7-foot storm surge shoved boats into the streets. Homes flooded, hurling tables and sofas through windows. Gusts as strong as 129 mph damaged four-fifths of St. Thomas, including key infrastructure. Clean water became scarce when the desalinization plant went offline. After witnessing the levels of destruction, the World Meteorological Organization decided the name “Marilyn” would never label a hurricane again.
