Marcos is a junior and Executive Committee Chair at Marietta High School in Marietta, GA where he is an active volunteer in his community of Kennesaw. He is active in many community and school groups. He was one of the founding members of the Odyssey of the Mind team in his school district, which received first place in the Spontaneous Division at the world finals. He is active in his engineering program, leading the Haiti Container Project and serving as Print Media Technician for the Society for Pre-Engineering. He is the Service Coordinator for his National Honor Society and active in his local Beta Club chapter. He also belongs to the Technology Student Association and Student Council and has led several food drives and fundraising events for Pennies for Patients®. He serves on the Model Atlanta Regional Commission and various groups enacting change throughout his community. He hopes to bring his leadership skills to the YPC and to improve the public’s understanding of health and food safety issues after a disaster.

During his time on the YPC, Marcos has collaborated with other Council members to create Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs. This year, he is the Committee Chair of the Youth Preparedness Programs Committee and will be promoting Pedro the Penguin and Ready2Help. He would also like to continue to develop interpersonal and community outreach skills through work with students from around the country.
